HOMEOWNER’S COVERAGE
Property Coverage
- Coverage is provided for your home, attached structures and separate structures like a detached garage.
- Coverage is for almost all types of damage except common exclusions such as wear and tear, earth movement, earthquake and flood.
- Separate structures are covered at a minimum of 10 percent of the replacement value of your home. Coverage can be increased by endorsement.
- Extended Replacement Cost (up to 125 percent of dwelling coverage) is available.
- Replacement cost is the basis for all other property-related coverages.
Personal Property
- Coverage is based upon a percentage of the replacement cost value of your home. (Condominium Owners Package Policy coverage amount selected by insured)
- Property is covered anywhere in the world.
- Coverage is on a named-peril basis, meaning only losses resulting from reasons listed in the policy are covered.
- Content Replacement Cost (available by endorsement) extends coverage to included the cost of repair or replacement without the deduction for depreciation.
Personal Liability
- Pays for bodily injury or property damage to others, if you are liable, resulting from:
Loss of Use
- Covers additional living expenses if your home is unfit to live in due to a covered loss.
- Coverage based on percentage of replacement cost value of your home. (Townhouse and Condominium Owners Package Policy Loss of Use coverage based on a percentage of Personal Property coverage)
- Includes loss of rental income if a portion of the house is rented to others.
Medical Expenses to Others
- Coverage for medical payments for people other than residents of your household injured at your home, regardless of liability.
Optional Coverage (floaters)
- Extended coverage for certain categories of personal property.
- Increased monetary limitations and broadened coverage provisions. (all risk)
- Scheduled and Unscheduled coverage available. ie. jewelry
- Additional premium required.
